We’ve been hearing rumblings about the new The Crow reboot/remake/reimagining or whatever they’re planning to call it for quite some time now. Rumors keep swirling that Mark Wahlberg will wear the greasepaint this go around, despite his claims to the contrary. However, we all know that casting and production can’t officially begin until a director has been brought onboard. Bloody Disgusting (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/23445) caught wind that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, director of 28 Weeks Later , may end up in the director’s chair. Nothing is official and as of this post he’s still “in talks”. I’m not sold on Wahlberg as the lead in any film, let alone The Crow, but Fresnadillo may be a decent fit if rumors are true.

I don't know how crazy I am about this either. Especially when there were so many comics that stretched from different stories, different people, different tragedies. To go back and "remake" something that could easily just continue with new people seems really cheap and lazy to me. I'm not saying "The Crow" sequels were anything to scream about, but the original is untouchable – leave it be. I still think they need a female Crow already. They did it in the comics, so why not in film? It would be a nice change of pace…
