Joe Dante is one of those directors who doesn’t work nearly enough. The man has given us Gremlins , The Howling, Piranha and a solid episode or two of Masters of Horror. His latest film The Hole has yet to be released in the U.S., but the director is gearing up for his next project — a horror comedy called, um, Monster Love. Described as Romeo & Juliet with fangs, the plot centers around a werewolf and a vampire that fall in love, sparking a ware between their respective species.
With a goofy title and a plot that instills little confidence, we’ll just have to put our faith in Dante to deliver the goods once again. Hopefully he won’t give us another Small Soldiers.
