The Ward, director John Carpenter’s first feature since 2001, has been acquired for U.S. distribution by ARC Entertainment and XLRator Media. No release date has been announced. The film stars Amber Heard as a woman admitted to a psychiatric ward where she teams with fellow patients to battle an evil force. Early festival reviews of the film have been unenthusiastic and underwhelming. Here’s hoping that Carpenter is able to make a few improvements before release.
