David Slade, director of 30 Days of Night and, most recently, Twilight: Eclipse, is returning to vampires once more for his next film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Slade is set to direct The Last Voyage of the Demeter. The period horror picture will feature Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace. Casting is still underway for the lead roles. For those unaware, The Demeter was the ship that transported Dracula to from Transylvania to London in Bram Stoker’s novel. In the novel the ship washes up on the shores of England with a sole survivor. The film’s plot is thought to be reminiscent of Ridley Scott’s original Alien, in which the crew begins dropping like flies thanks to a mysterious passenger onboard the ship. The project is still securing financing.
